WV Fiber's Transport product is called intelligent IP by many and works by mapping a physical interface at a Provider Edge router onto an MPLS Label Switched Path (LSP). Native Layer 2 Protocol Data Units from Ethernet, SONET, or ATM interfaces are transmitted via the LSP on the WV Fiber Network, to the opposite side Edge router where the label is removed. The original Protocol Data Unit is then transmitted to the opposite Customer Edge router device. WV Fiber Data Transport is a fully transparent service, providing a dedicated point to point Layer 2 private line service. The customer may transparently pass any Layer 2 or Layer 3 protocol data necessary to support their application. WV Fiber built its IP Network for high performance and unparalleled reliability.
